The way Canon works is that they believe the current DR of their sensors are great and no need to significantly improve this, also that current mp levels are already high for DSLR’s so the sensor would be around 28mp or even 24mp. We have never seen Canon make major jumps in mp from model to model. There are big numbers of Canon supporters that will de delighted with the list of specs and a mp increase of 4 to 6. Time to realize that IQ in future will come from better lenses and post processing that optimizes what the sensor captures. Better ISO performance on current MP level sensors is a better gain than more MP
Ken Rockwell is such a tool.
Dynamic Range is going to make it or break it.

somebody goofed!
No, they Will not out do Nikon in a pixel race. Canon is way behind an Will need years to catch up. THE jump is to high, ken Rockwell Needs to step away from THE mushrooms.
If Canon is going to release the Mark 4 with 36 MP, then I’m going to bail out all my Canon gear and head for Sony.
I would love to see a 24-30MP sensor with improvement in dynamic range. Keep the 51 AF pts with all crosstype sensor af if possible. dual DIGIC 6 and CF slots is definitely a nice thing to have. 7 fps is really more than enough. And I hope they could remove the dedicated zoom button and revert to the normal way of zooming. An MOST IMPORTANTLY, 4K recording capability with all the essential HDMI output and microphone jack.
Other than that, cosmetic improvement on the body design and make it more sexy. I’d be more than happy to spend all my savings into it.
