Thank you very much for this post. I have been looking into the D3300 for film. I’m hoping to buy the body and get some prime lenses.
Hi,
Thanks much for your useful reviews. I own a Nikon D3300 and i am looking at buying a Sigma18-250 or a Tamron 18-270mm lens for my DSLR. But wonder about compatibility issue, since D3300 has no built in auto focus motor. Can you please help me decide.
Thanks

check this site out, click on the images and it will tell you if the lens is compatible.
You are a bit late bro. I already bagged the sigma 18-250 . Thanks for the link though. I will go through it for sure 🙂
Are you happy with the sigma 18-250?
Its been less than a month i am using the sigma 18-250. As i was looking at a basic travel lens with some decent zoom which is serving my purpose.
The f6.3 is a bit frustrating at 250mm though. But do i have a choice with this price? And second thing the focus ring is not as quick as the Nikor 18-55 kit lens which i also use. Otherwise its a fine device so far.
This lens is giving me grief at tele end. Pictures are great IF you can get them to focus. Conditions have to be perfect: sunny outdoors, mid-zoom, static subject. This is too much weight to haul around if the zoom range is not doing it’s job. Other than that the shots are pleasing. However, I would NOT recommend this lens on the D3300; too many missed shots. Also, you’ll definitely want to use the LOCK button. Very intense lens creep.
Why Tamron 70-300mm VC USD Lens not mentioned in the zoom lens list?
Can we use the Nikon 35-70mm zoom-macro on the D3300, please, thank you. Bill
