Looks about like the Nikon 50mm F1.4G. I shoot a lot with that lens too. Am I missing something? I’m not trying to be negative here, but what exactly are we paying the premium price for?
Contrast, resolution, less color fringing, and very, very sharp all the way to the corners even shooting wide open. Oh plus it says Zeiss.
Im sure the contrast and resolution is a bit better. I get that, but I just dont actually see the difference. Hell, I still own a Hasselblad and occasionally shoot with it, so I understand the Zeiss mystique and quality. I just find it hard to justify buying this lens for 10 times the price of something I physically cannot see the difference in.
Like I said….it says Zeiss. For some the minute difference in quality is worth it as it may separate themselves from others that are using “Just” Nikon/Canon glass. Most people who get these lenses are working professionals who see this as a bargain as they will make their money back in 2-3 jobs while using it. Some are just loaded who like taking awesome pictures.
