Canon Rumors says an EOS R7 V is in Canon’s pipeline, with a current announcement window of Q4 2027 or Q1 2028. That sits behind the still-unannounced EOS R7 Mark II, which CR continues to place in Q1 2027. There is no sensor, no body, and no price on the V.
The site says the name has shown up in roadmap presentations. The only other camera named in that same telling is the EOS R10 Mark II, which CR thinks is also an early-2027 announcement. Specs CR has heard for the R7 Mark II are being held back: the site says it is not confident enough to publish them.
What “V” means here
CR frames this as the video-leaning line expanding past the EOS R6 V and EOS R50 V. Both are described as well received and apparently meeting Canon’s sales expectations. CR’s own caveat: take that with a grain of salt, because Canon would not say the opposite. A few retailers, the site adds, have said the R6 V is doing well.
A separate recent report, as CR summarizes it, has Canon talking about more “V-series” lenses. CR reads that as Z and PZ optics. Only two PZ lenses exist now; the site expects more on both RF and RF-S. That is an assumption attached to a lens comment, not a list of focal lengths.
CR also does not think the R8 Mark II look is coming to the R7 Mark II, even if Canon eventually spreads that design. Asked whether more bodies will get it, the answer on this post is that it is possible and that they do not know.
The wider point CR is making is SKU count. Canon has said, in the site’s telling, that more camera SKUs are a focus as it moves some buyers off a single “true hybrid” body. Margins, manufacturing, cost, and marketing are the reasons CR imagines, not a published product plan. The site says it is hearing more about upcoming cameras and still does not have high confidence in those details.
