Sigma FP2 Orders Exceed Expectations in Japan Ahead of November 11 Launch

By DealFinderPosted on

Sigma has warned that FP2 and EVF-21 orders in Japan have exceeded its expectations ahead of the camera’s scheduled November 11, 2026 launch. Its October 29 notice says production is not keeping pace with demand and some customers may have to wait longer for delivery.

The notice covers the FP2 body, the 50mm F2 lens kit, the EVF-21 kit and the EVF-21 viewfinder sold separately. It is a Japanese supply notice, rather than confirmation that every retailer worldwide is sold out. Read Sigma’s notice.

The Sigma FP2 is the second-generation ultra-compact full-frame camera in the fp line. It is priced at $2,199 body only and is due to ship on November 11. It is the world’s smallest full-frame interchangeable-lens camera. That is less obvious than it sounds, because the body is almost entirely redesigned and still manages to be smaller than the first fp even with a bigger battery and a tilting screen. You can now pre-order at B&H Photo Video/Amazon.

Photo of the current Sigma fp L camera, not the rumored Sigma fp II

L-Rumors says several trusted sources are describing a Sigma fp II: a cine-leaning L-mount compact with an EVF, due soon. Sigma has not announced it. There is no body photo of the new camera.

The list is short, and one line is already hedged. A 24MP sensor is written down with the note that it is unclear whether that sensor is actually this camera’s. The rest, as published: L-mount, open gate, internal RAW, an EVF, a body slightly bigger than the current fp L, a price around $2,500, and an announcement that could land by November — or, the site asks, on October 24.
